Objectives of Thisham celebration

Festival>Thisham>Objectives

  1. The primary objective of Thisham festival is to chase out the spirit of the dead from the living. 
  2. Thisham is a festival commemoration of the dead.
  3. The festival is meant to expel the dead from the village.
  4. Dance of the dead is performed during Thisham festival celebration. This dance is the final ritual performed by the family for the dead.
